I Think We Have Been Eating Lemons All Wrong!

Hi Skinnies!

I am a huge advocate of LEMONS and I always highly recommend my clients try Lemon water to detox the body and help with acne issues.  The benefits of lemons are extremely extensive and although it seems to be acidic it actually becomes alkaline within the system once digested which is one of the reasons I suggest lemon water to my clients to help boost immunity, balance the system, fight viruses, and even boost your metabolism.

So today I am sharing with you why we may have been eating lemons wrong all this time!  Today we learn why freezing lemons and consuming them are actually one of the best ways to take advantage of all the amazing benefits lemons have to offer.

Why Should You Freeze Lemons?
Dr. James Dudley explains:

One of the latest researches showed for the first time how limonoids, natural compounds present in lemons and other citrus fruit, impede both ER+ and ER- breast cancer cell growth. This sheds new light on the importance of citrus fruit for breast cancer prevention and supports past studies which showed fruit consumption may lower breast cancer risk.

Freezing lemon will preserve the nutrients in the peel as well and it is even easier to use the lemon as a whole. Simple, take an organic lemon, wash it and then put it in the freezer. Once it is frozen, you can use it whichever way you want to. You can grate or shred the whole lemon without even peeling it first. Then sprinkle it on your salad, ice cream, soup, cereals, noodles, spaghetti sauce, or whatever.

 Benefits of Lemons

Another interesting aspect of the lemon is that it has a remarkable effect on cysts and tumors. It has an anti-microbial effect against bacterial infections and fungi. It is effective against internal parasites and worms and also regulates blood pressure, which is too high. Moreover, lemon can also act as an anti-depressant and combats stress and nervous disorders.

More than 20 lab tests reveal that lemon kills malignant cells in 12 different cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas. The lemon tree contains 10,000 times more effective compounds than Adriamycin, which is normally used in chemo.

Therefore you should use the whole lemon and not waste anything from it.

So Skinnies, I hope that motivated you to freeze and use those lemons!

I recently bought a bag of organic lemons from Trader Joes.  I rinsed them well, then put them in the freezer, I have found for one they last much longer and are so easy to CUT!

I make a “Detox” drink out of them also.

This is what I do: I make some tea, add ginger, add a little PURE Cranberry Juice and a bit of honey.  I then take my sliced frozen lemons and add them to the mixture and let it sit overnight.  I  drink on this throughout the day.  I must tell you though you will for sure go to the bathroom A LOT as it is flushing your system…just a heads up.

fat flushMy next task will be to take my frozen lemons and use my VitaMixer and make a “Detox” Smoothie using the whole lemon with the same above ingredients.  I have not done this yet but I will let you know how that goes!

So, basically….FREEZE those lemons and get all those benefits!  Not to mention they last soooooo much longer!  No more wasted lemons over here!

Have you ever tried freezing your lemons? If so, how do you use them?

Leave a comment below!  I would LOVE to hear your thoughts!   If you try the “Detox” that I mentioned above let me know or if you want to know more about it…let me know that as well.   Until next time Skinnies, keep loving YOU and the SKIN you are in!
